BeyondATC Experimental Branch Now Available for X-Plane 12
Quick summary· AI-generated
BeyondATC has launched X-Plane 12 support via its experimental branch, available first to Supporter Edition customers before a full release. The plugin brings AI voice recognition, FAA/ICAO phraseology, traffic injection using Just Flight Traffic Global/X-CSL/Bluebell models, pushback animations, TCAS integration, and in-sim radio controls. Current limitations include no tyre smoke or engine heat effects, no connected jetways, and Windows-only support, with macOS and Linux being explored. CPDLC functionality requires aircraft developer integration.

Beyond ATC, the AI-powered ATC and traffic injection plugin for MSFS 2020/2024 is now available on the X-Plane 12 platform, with support for IFR and VFR operations and a fully controlled AI traffic system.
The XP12 release follows BeyondATC’s announcement earlier this month, which began work on XP12 compatibility in April 2026. Support for XP12 is available via BeyondATC’s Experimental branch and is accessible to “Supporter Edition” customers.
A broader release for all existing BeyondATC customers is coming soon, at no extra cost.
BeyondATC for XP12 includes BeyondATC’s AI-powered voice recognition and generated controller communications, supporting FAA and ICAO phraseology worldwide. VFR operations are also possible, including the ability to import flight plans. BeyondATC can also inject traffic directly, both scheduled and live, using Just Flight Traffic Global, X-CSL, and Bluebell aircraft models.
The injected aircraft have their own pushback animations, lights, engine sounds, and TCAS integration. You can also control BeyondATC’s radio frequencies and volume directly in XP12, although compatibility with third-party aircraft may vary.
As for limitations, AI aircraft do not yet support connected jetways, tyre smoke, or engine heat effects. Taxi guidance arrows are also unavailable. CPDLC functionality will require cooperation from aircraft developers, so that is not dependable.
Support for XP12 is limited to Windows, although BeyondATC is exploring compatibility with macOS and Linux.
Below are the features listed in BeyondATC’s blog post.
What can you expect from day one?
IFR and VFR support within X-Plane 12
Support for ‘.FMS’ flight plans in the VFR flight plan process
Full traffic injection, both with scheduled and live traffic*
Support for Just Flight Traffic Global, X-CSL and Bluebell models.
AI Pushback tugs, animations and lights on all supported models.
AI Traffic sounds
AI Traffic TCAS support
In-sim radio controls, including volume and frequency tuning
Third-party aircraft may write to specific datarefs we haven’t mapped yet; if an aircraft’s radio panel doesn’t respond to frequency changes in BeyondATC, please log a bug report.
What are the limitations?
X-CSL models have limited animation support for certain wheel animations.
AI aircraft have no tyre smoke or engine heat animations.
CPDLC support requires developers to integrate with BeyondATC; we are working on establishing connections with X-Plane developers to support…
