Quick summary· AI-generated

FlightFX's Hawker 800XP update v1.7.0 bundles a self-contained Pro Line 21 avionics system to avoid MSFS default implementation conflicts, adds Terrain Clearance Floor warnings to EGPWS, improves cockpit control responsiveness, fixes hydraulic false alarms and terrain warnings during landing, and optimizes performance by caching terrain data and reducing persistence-save frequency. The update also rebalances taxi thrust, retunes turbulence response, and fixes weather radar and cockpit view systems.

FlightFX has updated its Hawker 800XP to version 1.7.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The update introduces fixes for recent Sim Update 7 compatibility issues, system improvements, and performance optimisations.

The aircraft’s Pro Line 21 avionics now use a built-in copy of the system from Sim Update 6. Previously, the Hawker relied on MSFS’s default implementation, meaning changes Microsoft made could cause issues. According to FlightFX, the new approach should resolve the SU7 incompatibility and prevent similar issues in future Sim Updates.

The new update also adds Terrain Clearance Floor (TCF) functionality to the Hawker 800XP’s EGPWS. You’ll now hear a Terrain Proximity Warning if the aircraft descends too close to the ground, relative to distance from the runway, but a normal, three-degree approach will be unaffected. The system can be disabled using the “TERR INHIB” switch.

Several cockpit controls have been improved, including more predictable altitude-selector behaviour and better speed selection when flying without autothrottle. The Top of Descent (TOD) chime has been adjusted, and the flight mode indications on the PFD have likewise been tweaked.

FlightFX has reduced the taxi idle thrust percentage to prevent excessive acceleration on the ground. Turbulence response has also been retuned.

As for bug fixes, false hydraulic overheating warnings during taxiing, which could damage engine-driven hydraulic pumps with failures enabled, have been fixed.

Unwanted terrain warnings during landing, missing approach reference speeds, and the handling of V-speeds when changing runways have been corrected. The rain effects now respond to your airspeed, and fixes have been made to the weather radar, cockpit view system, and fire extinguisher switches.

Stutters during long flights when terrain was displayed on the MFD have been fixed: the aircraft now caches terrain information instead of repeatedly requesting it, which was the cause of this stuttering.

Systems and displays have been optimised to reduce processing demands. When “Total Persistence” is enabled, your in-flight aircraft state will be saved every 30 seconds rather than every second, reducing background activity.
