SimWorks Studios PC-12 Legacy Releasing Oct. 30 for MSFS 2024
Quick summary· AI-generated
SimWorks Studios is releasing a native MSFS 2024 version of the Pilatus PC-12 Legacy on Oct. 30, building on the original MSFS 2020 release. The update includes a new CFD-based flight model tuned for MSFS 2024's physics, reworked engine simulation (ITT calculations, fuel scheduling, beta/reverse operations), upgraded avionics framework (GNSv2, Working Title v2), and visual enhancements (new engine bay, improved landing gear deformation, weathering). It retains compatibility with GTN750/GTNXi addons and existing liveries, and adds support for MSFS 2024's career mode, preflight inspection features with removable covers and chocks, and VIP Charter missions.
Excerpt from Threshold
SimWorks Studios has announced that the Pilatus PC-12 Legacy for MSFS 2024 will be released on Oct. 30.
This is a native version built specifically for 2024, which follows the original PC-12 for MSFS 2020. The new version has an overhauled flight model, improved systems, and several new features.
The 2024 product builds on the original PC-12 Legacy, released for MSFS 2020 in Dec. 2023, and keeps its systems simulation, custom engine modelling, and comprehensive EFIS50 avionics suite. The MSFS 2024 PC-12 will also keep compatibility with PMS50’s GTN750 and TDS GTNXi, as well as the Commuter, Cargo, and Executive cabin configurations.
It includes both the four- and five-bladed propeller variants, with their respective flight models and differences in aileron-rudder interconnect in place.
Flight and Engine Model
The new PC-12 has an MSFS 2024-native, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) flight model, which SimWorks Studios says has been developed to recreate the handling of the real PC-12, while also leveraging the newer simulator’s capabilities.
The engine simulation also has several improvements, such as reworked Inter-Turbine Temperature (ITT) calculations, fuel scheduling, idle dwell, and propeller discing behaviour. The beta and reverse operations have also been reworked, and the engine torque reduction when the initial separator is activated has been reduced.
Avionics
The aircraft has been upgraded to the Working Title v2 framework, now having GNSv2 compatibility, allowing flight plans to be transferred directly from the simulator’s EFB. The electrical system has also been updated, and the PC-12 now has an updated sound package and numerous code optimisations.
Artwork & “Walkaround Mode”
The aircraft has a “brand new” engine bay, improved landing gear rigging (with deforming tyres), and reworked lighting. The exterior also has more dirt and weathering, a welcome mat, and traffic cones positioned around the aircraft.
The texture maps from MSFS 2020 have been preserved, so existing repaints and liveries should work immediately, with a few adjustments.
The 2024 PC-12 will also support the new sim’s native preflight mode, including removable covers and wheel chocks when in Avatar/Walkaround mode. The angle-of-attack, pitot, and static systems have also been integrated into these preflight inspection features.
Career Mode & MOZA
The new PC-12 supports MSFS 2024 Career Mode and can handle VIP Charter missions with the Commuter and Executive…
