Excerpt from Threshold

SimWorks Studios has shared another of its weekly development updates, this time on three upcoming aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The Pilatus PC-12 Legacy is now approaching release, the Kodiak 900 is undergoing some optimisation work, and regular monthly dev updates are forthcoming for the Dash 8 series.

PC-12

The PC-12 Legacy, a native MSFS 2024 version of the previous SWS PC-12, is in final testing, with remaining issues being addressed and finishing details being added. The release is now being assessed on a week-by-week basis.

Final adjustments to the flight model are also being made, including a permanent option to turn off the aileron-rudder interconnect on the aircraft’s EFB. One of SWS’s real-world PC-12 pilots is also preparing an official force-feedback profile for MOZA Racing hardware, which will ship with the release.

Kodiak 900 and (Dash) Classic 8 Series

The Daher Kodiak 900, a larger and faster sibling of the Kodiak 100, is also in development, and SWS is currently focused on level-of-detail (LOD) implementation to ensure the aircraft behaves as it should with an acceptable performance impact.

SWS has also announced a new schedule of development updates for its De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Classic series (Classic 8), which will be released with the Dash 8-100, -200, and -300 variants.

Development updates on SWS’s Dash 8 will now come monthly and focus on topics such as flight model, engines, avionics, and systems.

The first SWS Classic 8 Series development update is coming Oct. 30 this month. No release date is known yet.
