Excerpt from Threshold
LevelUp has released version V2.S1.51 of their freeware 737NG series for X-Plane 12, consisting mostly of flight-model, systems, visuals, audio, and VR improvements across the family.
Flight model
Regarding the flight model, the wing, stabiliser, flaps, slats, and control geometries across all variants have been recalibrated, and payload and centre-of-gravity positions have been revised to be compatible with Zibomod systems.
The 737-900ER now has correct flap positions for aircraft equipped with Boeing’s Short Field Performance package as well.
Artwork
Regarding the visuals, LevelUp has introduced smoother nose modelling, improved exterior lighting, added more tail trim detail, and updated various aspects of cockpit and cabin illumination.
SFP-equipped aircraft now have animated, extendable tailskids, and normal maps now include subtle weathering. Several cockpit and exterior textures have also been adjusted.
Soundset
Audio for the TCAS test function, VCR, MMR, and weather-radar controls have been added, as well as engine windmilling sounds.
Several existing sounds have been corrected, including cabin ambience around doors, passenger chatter, engine-start combustion audio, and an issue where welcome announcements played during deboarding.
Miscallaneous
LevelUp has made improvements to various cockpit displays and indications, including revisions to LCD presentation, MCP digits, elevator trim indications, and brake-temperature positioning.
They have also updated the VR config files created by user SteveC and now included on all variants.
New installation method
From now on, LevelUp will only be installable and updated via the 737NG Maintenance Toolkit, and previous downloads from Orbx and the Threshold forums are no longer supported.
The LevelUp 737NG is still a freeware project and is available through the distribution channel mentioned.
As a disclaimer, LevelUp previously operated as a development branch of Threshold, but is today a completely independent project.
