iniBuilds Releases A380 Airliner for MSFS 2024

Threshold

Quick summary· AI-generated

iniBuilds has launched the long-awaited A380 for MSFS 2024 with two engine options (Rolls-Royce Trent 900 and Engine Alliance GP7200), each with distinct visual models and in-house soundsets. The aircraft includes comprehensive systems modeling such as Brake-to-Vacate, weather radar, dynamic fuel temperatures, and configurable failure systems. Two avionics configurations are offered—an Early-MSN Batch 2 baseline and a Modern-MSN Batch 7 with advanced capabilities like FLS and RNP AR curved approaches. Additional features include RAAS, a dedicated EFB design, and Airbus OANS/AMM systems.

Excerpt from Threshold

iniBuilds has released the long-awaited A380 Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a rendition of the Airbus superjumbo that dates back to 2019.

As with previous iniBuilds releases, the A380 is purchasable only on the in-sim MSFS 2024 Marketplace, but a release on the iniBuilds Store is planned for later.

iniBuilds-painted liveries are available on iniManager.

In-house soundset

The release includes both A380 engine options, the Rolls-Royce Trent 900 and the Engine Alliance GP7200, which have separate visual models and sound sets.

iniBuilds states that each engine has its own start-up, shutdown, spool-up, and thrust-response characteristics, as well as other differences between soundsets.

Unlike some other iniBuilds releases, the A380 sounds are made in-house by iniBuilds, rather than Echo19 Audio.

Systems modelling

The aircraft includes persistent states between simulator sessions, potable water and waste systems, Brake-to-Vacate, a Vertical Situation Display, weather radar, dynamic fuel temperatures, body-gear steering (some wheels on the main bogies steer), and a configurable failure system.

Two MSN batches

iniBuilds also offers early- and modern avionics configurations, with changes in the flight management system, guidance logic, protections, and procedures.

Through the EFB, you will be able to select between an Early-MSN configuration, based on the Batch 2 standard, and a Modern-MSN configuration, based on Batch 7.

Batch 2 (aprox. 2010): Early-production baseline aircraft systems utilised when the type was still maturing in service.

Batch 7: More advanced capabilities like FLS (FMS Landing System) integration, RNP AR (Required Navigation Performance Authorisation Required) curved approach functionality.

RAAS, EFB, OIS, OANS

The developer says the fly-by-wire implementation has been tuned according to A380 standards, which includes revised primary flight-control computer logic and dedicated rotation behaviour.

An optional Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) is included, and the new Electronic Flight Bag (a different design from the A350) and Onboard Information Terminal will house takeoff performance calculations, charts, AOC messaging, aircraft configuration, and ground service information.

Airbus’s Onboard Airport Navigation System (OANS) and Airport Moving Map (AMM) are also implemented.
