Finn West and FWX Aviation have expanded their helicopter product line for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, releasing three new addons back-to-back that cover default flight dynamics, rotor shadows, and tactile rotor feedback.
The releases follow the developer’s EC135 Sound Pack, which launched earlier this year, and all of FWX’s packs so far have aimed to improve the behaviour of default helicopters in MSFS 2024.
This time, FWX is tackling three separate parts of the helicopter experience all at once, with each product operating through the so-called “FWX Control Center”, an in-simulator toolbar panel.
MSFS 2024 Helicopter Flight Model
The first addon, FWX Helicopter Flight Dynamics, is a flight-model improvement for MSFS 2024’s default helicopters that adds a layer of continuously calculated motion.
Instead of relying on pre-scripted effects, FWX says this system uses live simulator flight data and pilot control inputs to determine how the aircraft should respond at any given moment.
The aim, FWX says, is to make MSFS 2024’s default helicopters feel less static, particularly in the hover phase, while accounting for speed, weight, attitude, airflow, and control movement.

Main and tail rotor shadows are handled separately, and the system currently supports the Airbus H125, H135, H225, Guimbal Cabri G2, Robinson R66, Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane, and Boeing CH-47 Chinook, with both Chinook rotors represented.
