UK2000 Scenery Releases Wittman Regional KOSH

Scenery developer, UK2000 Scenery, has built its reputation creating high-fidelity UK airports since the FS98 days. But, in recent years, the developer has also introduced several smaller American general aviation airports to its lineup for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The most recent destination to gain the spotlight is Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH), located just south of Oshkosh in Winnebago County, Wisconsin.

The airport is named after Steve Wittman, a pioneering air racer, aircraft designer, and Oshkosh’s airport manager who helped shape the field’s early character. Much of KOSH’s identity is closely tied to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) “AirVenture” annual fly-in convention held each July. During the week-long aviation celebration, KOSH transforms into the busiest airfield in the world, welcoming thousands of aircraft and making Oshkosh the global center of aviation. Hundreds of thousands of visitors, too, walk the grounds, take in the daily airshows, attend seminars, and visit vendors and manufacturers during the event.

Compatible with both MSFS2020 and MSFS2024 (PC and Xbox), UK2000 Scenery’s KOSH features an accurate recreation of the airport’s current layout. Also included is WS17, Pioneer Airport, and its single grass strip nestled within KOSH’s 392-acre (563 ha) grounds. Basler Flight Service, Wittman Regional’s sole FBO, is modeled in detail with static corporate jet traffic and ground service equipment. AirVenture regulars will note that UK2000 Scenery has included many notable EAA landmarks, such as the EAA Museum, Brown Arch, “World’s Busiest Control Tower”, the EAA Flight Research Center (Weeks Hangar), Boeing Plaza, exhibitor buildings, and other associated buildings throughout the grounds. PBR materials ensure realistic surface textures under various lighting conditions.
